Recycle, Reuse and REPURPOSE! Use your imagination and make a wonderful dish garden or centerpiece with something you might have in your kitchen!
Here at MSC, of course, we have our newest Whitewash Bow Collection, perfect for all the spring flowers that are blooming in our local garden shop! We could not resist the petunias, vinca, impatiens and daisies for the bread basket, serving bowl and the pitcher!
After choosing our plants, we lined the bowl with fine mesh wire that we also found at the plant shop. We used this since our breadbasket bowl had holes. It is not necessary if you don’t have holes in the dish you are using.
In our serving dish, we actually left the plants in the pots and covered with moss! Giving the plants like this allows Mom to plant the plants wherever she wants, keeps your hands clean and mom’s new dish is not so dirty!
It helps to have a great potting table like this as well! Thank’s to Keiko’s Dad for this fabulous work space!
Now, for the finishing touches to the arrangement, we added Spoon Markers! They come with FUN sayings (Born to Garden, Free Weeds, Water Me, You are my Sunshine, Grow Dammit & Bloom Dammit) or Herb (Rosemary, Thyme, Basil, Sage, Dill & Thyme).
Make time for friends during the holidays with a no-fuss but fun get together! Our graphic design team gets together at the drop of a hat when one of the team feels like cooking for the crowd! Jordan is always up for hosting and with the first cold snap, she announced it was time to try her new chili recipe!
Our Black and White tabletop collection has the perfect pieces for everyday entertaining! Jordan uses our oversize coffee mugs for chili and our cereal bowls for condiments like sour cream and cheese!
Jordan’s Chili Recipe
1 lb. ground beef
1 package of Hillshire Farms Polska Kielbasa Sausage
1 can light red kidney beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 small can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons of chili powder
ketchup and mustard
Dice onion and cook with ground beef. Dice the kielbasa sausage and add that to the ground beef. In a large pot or crock pot, add the canned ingredients (drain the beans), salt, sugar and chili powder. Once the beef is cooked all the way through, drain and add to the pot with other ingredients. Stir together and then add some ketchup and mustard to taste. I never measure this… just squirt some of each into the pot and stir and taste till it’s right! Once you have the mixture right, either turn on the crock pot, or simmer in a pot on the oven.
Garnish with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions. Yummy!
Charcuterie is, according to Webster, “a delicatessen specializing in dressed meats and meat dishes.”
For several years we have seen charcuterie boards and plates on menus at our favorite restaurants from NYC to Main Street. So while the GOWHIMSEY team was brainstorming for our catalog photo shoot, we thought of creating a charcuterie and cheese plate for our new ceramic Everyday 2016 rectangle platter.
We are delighted to be introducing our new Everyday 2016 tabletop line! This line is only available to retailers so tell your favorite gift shop about this fabulous and fun new line. Follow our blog as we introduce these new piece types and, of course, our favorite recipes!
Here’s to your next opportunity to share a charcuterie board with your friends and family!
Thanks for enjoying our products as much as we enjoy creating and bringing them to you.
